Our community is managed by the Board of Directors. The Board is at least five of our property owners elected annually to manage the monthly dues collected to maintain the common areas. The Board also ensures compliance with the Articles, Bylaws, CC&Rs and Rules & Regulations.
2024 - 2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
President - Bill Doyle
Vice President - Dan Starr
Secretary - Byron Ayle
Treasurer - Sam Baird
Members-at-Large - Frank Tometich, Bill Starkweather
The Board of Directors meets the third Thursday of every other month at 6:00pm. See the EVENTS tab for all upcoming meetings. The meetings will be held at the MVGLTA Community Pool. If inclement weather, we move the meeting as needed. The meetings last about an hour and all Owners are welcome, however only property Owners are permitted in the meeting.
Owners are notified by February on how to get on the ballot. Ballots are distributed in early April and the count is held at the Annual meeting in April. The Board selects the roles of the Directors (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer and members-at-large). Board members are required to attend the monthly meetings and assist in various duties throughout the year.
Is the Board more work than you desire? Try a committee team instead:
Architectural - Dan Starr
Beautification - Frank & Judy Tometich
Grounds & Trees - Frank Tometich & Steve Reed
Pool - Bill Starkweather
Sports Courts & Street Lamps - Tom Smith
Contact a Board member to get involved. We like to have multiple Owners on all committees so we can spread the workload around to keep it minimal for everyone.
Responsible for approving all exterior modifications to homes. The team ensures compliance with all the governing rules and requirements of the Association. Remember, before you start a project that will require approval, fill out an Architectural Approval form (see the Architectural tab).
Responsible for enforcing the governing rules and requirements of the association. Includes official notifications of violations (weeds, trash cans, parking, etc.) and collection of penalties. It is not a glamorous job, but somebody has to do it!
The best job in the summer! The pool team is responsible for ensuring the pool vendors maintain the pool. The team will provide elbow grease for occasional sweeping and skimming.
Responsible for the care and upkeep of the tennis and pickleball courts. Our pickleball court was resurfaced in 2016 and is one of the best in the valley!
Lots of ground to cover with this team, pun intended. This team oversees the landscaping and tree maintenance crews that maintain the common areas. One of the most involved (and maligned) teams in the community. Got a green thumb? We would love to have you involved!
This team must always see the community with fresh eyes. They are responsible for keeping up the level of "beauty" in the community. From streets to walkways, path lighting to street signs, this team keeps an eye on everything not covered in an existing committee.
A Moon Valley tradition, our neighborhood Christmas light displays and Christmas Eve luminaries. This team makes sure all of our residents has their luminaries in time for the display. They also ensure the bridge is set and lit. This is the official "one-time" per year committee!
We had several other committees, but their duties have been absorbed by other committees or the Board. If you have questions on "who does what", send us an email using the Feedback page.
Well, the answer to that is through our monthly dues. Relatively low in cost considering the amenities available to us. Our monthly dues are $160 beginning January 2024, due at the beginning of each month. A late fee of $10 will be charged if all amounts due are not paid by the 20th of the month. Make checks payable to “Moon Valley Golf Lots Townhouse Association" (or just "MVGLTA"), List your lot number on the “For” line of your check. Drop off in a sealed envelope to our association mailbox (next to lot 66, 228 Canterbury Ln). Or, mail to MVGLTA, 232 W. Canterbury Ln, Phoenix, AZ 85023.
